Seeing personal development in action by my reactions to a very caustic book that I am reading right now. The old me would have been all caught up in the drama/negativity that the author is putting forth, but the new me doesn't really have interest in it or time for it and is trying to skim quickly, to separate the ideas from the vitrol. How did I get here? :)

This morning's cool fall air on the first day of September. When I stepped out the front door I was caught off guard and wondered if I should put on a jacket. I think tonight I will dig my favorite fall wreath out of the attic for the front door.

I'm also reading a very caustic book right now, one third of it is told from the point of view of a nasty man and I'm beginning to wonder if I should just put it down and walk away. I've been able to keep it from affecting me too much so far, but it's not pleasant.

September always teases us with fall right after we're bludgeoned with oppressive humidity. Then we get "Indian Summer" and it's back to shorts around the third week of Sept. :-) So if you were planning on wearing any woollen plaids to the NH Highland Games that weekend -- like I always planned -- just be sure to bring the shorts and sleeveless tees too.

(We still don't know if we're going to NH games, since we have to be back in town for me to see Steeleye Span that Sat night, AND we might want to go off to Maryland Renn Faire in early October to see grovegoddess. It might be too much driving back and forth in two days, not to mention finding a motel overnight.)
