Ugh!

We are still experiencing problems with our department shared drive (i.e. where all of our files are stored). We didn't do much work on friday save for surf the internet and wait for IS to fix something (which they never did). Our director ended up sending us home at 2:30.

And after working a whole weekend to fix it - we STILL don't have access. I'd be really excited if they sent us home early today - I could head into school and get some extra time in the library.

This weekend was a quiet one. We didn't go to ManRay, didn't go to a Saturday party we were planning on. We did however get lots of work done around the house - the dumpster is filled, our house and yard just seems to have expanded due to the lack of trash and crazy vegetation. Our excursion to Sears on Friday night was a fun one; $400 later we had a kick-ass lawnmower, weedwacker, wheelbarrel, gloves, shovel and the obligatory spooky halloween socks :)

Here's some newer house pictures (only a couple). Once B has had time to slap some paint up in the kitchen I'll post 'temporary aesthetic band-aid #2' photos (the first temporary aesthetic band-aid was was the large piece of linoleum that we threw down on top of the old ugly, cracked 1970's floor. God, I can't wait until we do our remodel in the spring and we have nice ceramic tile down there :)

our old wall oven (there was also a range on the counter top that we disconnected and cut out when we first moved in to install a new stove): http://thahood.net/images/05_-_kitchen/?viewmode=gallery&image=7

this is what we found behind the stove: http://thahood.net/images/05_-_kitchen/?viewmode=gallery&image=6

one corner of B's computer room (so you can see it finished with his shiny black and silver spider curtains and some models on his shelf):

my GREEN craft room w/ the curtains I've made, shelves up on the walls and my porcelain doll collection on display for the first time in probably 10 years. The toybox under the windows is one that my Dad made years back (each kid has one) - its painted on the top and front and is all cedar lined (mmmm): http://thahood.net/parties/the_first_lan_party/?viewmode=gallery&image=1

I spent ALL yesterday doing homework but the good thing was I got all of my reading for the week done. I do need to spend some time in the library today (and possibly tomorrow if I don't find what I need today) collecting journal articles for my research project. I'm hoping it doesn't take me too long to find my way around the Umass Library; its HUGE compared to the ones I used in the Fenway area at Simmons, Emmanuel and Wheelock!

That room is so YOU!
I love the bright green, it's so happy and cheerful and conductive to creativity.
Yay for almost house doneness!
