NASA

Remember this http://dancer.livejournal.com/1240284.html ?

Brian and I are going. I booked the hotel and we need to book the airfare (at least we have $100 in credit to use with Jet Blue). This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I did our taxes and we'll be getting a refund which will cover the trip.

Delays can happen, so we'll fly in the day before the launch (its expected that we'll need to be there at 6 AM that morning) and we'll check out on Sunday to allow for a potential delay, apparently usually up to 2 days is the average when it happens. March is supposed to be a good month weather-wise, so here's hoping it goes smoothly.

Now, if the launch occurs on schedule on the 18th we'll have a couple of days to kill in or around Cocoa Beach. It's 45 minutes outside of Orlando, a couple hours from Xany. Hrm . . .

We're going to NYC next weekend. Orlando in August for Celebration V. My brother's wedding in NH for a long weekend in October. Crazy!

Anyone want to buy our Henry Rollins (spoken word) tickets for 3/17 at face value? He'll be at The Somerville Theater and the show is at 8:00 PM(it's a Wednesday, St. Patrick's Day).

Brian's Bday

Brian has been working on building a vac table in our basement for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermoforming .

For his birthday, I gave him a sign for our basement door that I've been threatening to make for a long time. It's from an Easter decoration with a piece of shimmery scrapbook card stock, which I finagled through my printer. The shiny paper isn't meant to go into a laser printer, so when I decoupaged the thing (in my car no less, since the jerk was home sick from work the day I was planning on doing this) I got a nice aged/weathering effect. Note the bunny shaped hanger at the top.

Along with it is a 'survival kit' of sorts: gloves, bandages and inner-soles for long times on the feet. The Burt's Bees stuff is for his late night post-building hot tubbing (Brian is particularly fond of ginger).

Crazy!

I came home from work to find an accident that just took place. Living on a main street can be exciting - 4 photos in the bottom of this directory:

Both drivers were fine.
