Weekend
Is it Sunday night already?!
K and I had a great time at the 90s-themed rock show at TT's on Friday night. I haven't seen so much flannel, floral dresses or champion sweatshirts in one place in a long time. Alas, our guys were both home sick and were unable to come. The bands were great and I'm glad to have finally seen http://www.reverbnation.com/zombieradio too.
I had ballet and acupuncture yesterday, and then Brian and I ran some errands out in our old hood. I've been wanting to get some things to organize my closet at the http://www.containerstore.com/shop , so we headed there and to Lowes for Brian to spend some birthday gift certificate money before checking out http://www.yelp.com/biz/la-carreta-framingham for dinner. So good! I was extremely impressed with the flavors at this place, not your normal Tex-Mex. I want to say that we went to the Nashua location after our nephew Colin was born. We finished up our Twin Peaks adventure with Fire Walk With Me and some of the DVD extras on Saturday night. I'm so sad that it's over, though we still have some extras to watch. One of the features was about the http://www.twinpeaksfest.com/ - how neat! There is some kind of nerdy, communal experience for everyone out there. I think we'll probably be talking about and referencing this show for years to come. I told Brian that my new coat hangers had something to tell Brian last night, and this morning commented on my damn fine coffee. Help me?
We slept in this morning - I actually didn't get out of bed until about 10:30 which is crazy for me. A sign that my body is trying to get Brian's cold? Perhaps. I'll be diligent about early bed, and tea and the neti pot because I don't want to ruin our NYC trip. We leave Thursday morning, taking the Acela to avoid driving in the potential snow that is headed our way, ooh swanky! We had breakfast at http://www.yelp.com/biz/victorias-cafe-waltham before running some more errands (ran into Mugzie at Whole Foods and she enlightened us on a special kind of coconut she gets for the milk inside) and then grabbed our CSA share - another chicken and another brisket that I think will make their way into our Gram's Birthday Party menu in early March. Yay for productive Sundays at home! We're enjoying the fireplace with our bunnies right now and some oolong tea (no pun intended).
Have a great week peeps!
