So after work we start the whirlwind prep for and implementation of (get ready for it) our New Orleans vacation! I need to pack everything and try to get in a nap before heading out to Man Ray for a night of dancing and chatting with friends followed by a late night/early morning breakfast and a shower before we head to the airport. Once we get to NOLA (around noon tomorrow) we are being whisked away to a friend's family home for some Po' Boys and then off to St. Vincent's Guest House. That evening we'll be going to an 80's night with K's brother.
The trip will include a Tulane Football Game at the Superdome, swamp tour, plantation tours, cemetery tours, City Park and NOMA, Audubon Park and the Zoo/Aquarium/Boat trip, The Westgate, a Voodoo Museum, lots and lots of walking and looking at pretty houses, good food (mmm, I think my most favorite part) and some obligatory shopping, bar-hopping and gothing :)
I had considered getting my tattoo while we were there after hearing some wonderful reviews of a couple of artists but I think since its a sensitive time of the month for me (go hormones!) I'll wait to do it at Jim's in NH when my body is less sensitive to pain. B did draw some of the design for me last night, once we scan it for prosperity (more like, so we don't lose the piece of paper before the work is actually done) I'll post the link here.
So I am totally overwhelmed! The last vacation that I took that was one week long was in the White Mountains and my luggage consisted only of some jeans, sweatpants, shirts, hiking boots and a bathing suit. Packing for this trip will be much, much more interesting :).
Have a great week LJ friends and I'll update when I'm back! I'm actually bringing my paper (gasp) journal with me for the trip so that I don't forget the small, special details. It will be nice to have the time to write in it again.
