SPSS was my intro to stats, and it kicked my ass (so I then took a bunch of stats classes and kicked it's ass). I had probably equivalent exposure to both SAS and SPSS, but I don't remember a whit of it now.

MSAccess... heh, that's what I used to replace the heinous DBASE database we were using at my first post-college job -- how I got started down the road to being a geek. At the time it seemed so nice and friendly. I don't think I'll ever be able to truly hate it.
