Humanah humanah!
We were talking about new music last night before the Metal Documentary http://www.metalhistory.com/ (so good btw, I'll be picking it up on DVD when its available next week), and I mentioned that I wanted to pick up the new Chili Peppers album. I also mentioned that tix went on sale for their 10/20 Boston show last weekend (alas, its already sold out).
DW mentioned that their new video for Dani California was a riot, which includes among other things, them as The Misfits. Holy shit, does Anthony Kiedis make a hot Glenn! I mean, Anthony Kiedis makes a hot anything (he's in the small line of famous people that I call my boyfriend, you know, in my fantasy land). Damn! The darkish guy with long dark hair and toned but not huge muscles seems to historically have been my thing. It started way back when I was a kid with Blackie from General Hospital (blame my Mom) and Atreyu from Neverending Story.
You can see the video on their website: http://www.redhotchilipeppers.com/news/news.php?uid=174
I did pick up the new album on the way home from work tonight, and I am liking it (at least the small handful of songs I've listened to thus far). It is definitely more mellow than classic Peppers (as the last couple of albums have been) but its still quite funky, and was good for cruising down tree lined suburban streets on a Friday afternoon.
