I'm so sad, my local yarn shop http://islandyarnco.com/ is now closed. I knew this was coming, but now its really final. Another will pop up I'm sure, but I'll miss talking to the original owner (my brother's friend's Mom - did you follow that?).

I need some really awkward needles - size 6, 12" circular. Finding those things at a JoAnne's or Fabric Place or Michael's or AC Moore is tough. The local yarn shop is where you'd be guaranteed to get them!

I'm going to run to the one in Melrose during my lunch break today so I'm not held up anymore and I know there is one in West Newton I need to explore. Do any of you knitters:
-have online sources you can pimp to me?
-have good experience with convertible circular needle sets? I know its an investment but its the funny circulars I always have a problem finding, so I may ask the hubby to get me a convertible set for Xmas if there are good ones out there.

I really like the knitpicks interchangable needles that I ordered online. And they just announced wooden ends rather than metal, so I'm very exicted about that! You can order a set or individual ones and they all work together...

Thanks for the suggestion! I was looking at them online (alas, they don't seem to have 12" lengths but the other stuff may be a good base for the future). :)
