From the Intranet:

Quote of the Day "Faith is the ability to let your light shine even after your fuse is blown." - Unknown

***********

Does anyone that went to either CCD or had some kind of other Christian education learn the "This is a little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine" song? I haven't thought of that thing at years (bringing back memories of classes when I lived in Wellesley at the teacher's house - I think my favorite part was snack time!).

Recovering Catholic.
*lol*
I actually learned more songs like that in my one stint at Girl Scout camp, than at school.
We sang hymns, and songs about coffee (which STILL keeps me up at night, I find myself singing some songs I learned at age 8 *shudder*)
I got to avoid CCD, they figured I got a daily dose for 12 years, I really didn't need it.

the song that haunts me the most, and appears in my head at inopportune times for no reason at all is "give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning, burning, burning..." (wow, that could be morbidly akin to hell or something! just thought of that!)

but the worst verse of all goes (and i apologize if you know this song and it's stuck in your head forever, now)

give me gas in my ford, keep me truckin' for the lord.
give me gas in my ford, i pray (hallelu)
give me gas in my ford, keep me truckin' for the lord.
keep me truckin' til the break of day.

(oh good god... did i really sing that in my head? noooooo.....)
