Good Things

I moved the bookshelf in the living room, switching it with the electric 'wood' stove so that it wasn't blocking the thermostat. Heat would collect there and shut off the whole house heat because the bookshelf was only 6" or so from the thermostat. I figure, I've wanted to do this anyway and the plumber is coming today. It looks good!

Getting our heat checked out for the new season is a good thing. I can't believe how cool it is out there - yay! Maybe I'll motivate myself this week to call some insulators to set up time for quotes.

The garage doors came in a bit high so we're getting another quote. Getting that stuff taken care of finally is a good thing.

Our crockpot beef stew was really good. It was a tomato based recipe that included instant tapioca powder (see what I mean by weird ingredients?). I could get into this crock pot thing. Fritatta tonight, dinner out tomorrow.

I've finished the Dreden Files book I was working on and will move to the next more productive one (Power of Now, Eckhart Tolle, from the library). Reading in the living room with a lit candle and the electric stove 'lit' (it can do the fake fire lights/noise with no heat) is awesome!

What is Fritatta?

Fritatta

A fritatta is kind of like a baked egg thing (like a quiche without a crust). We just got a penzey's spice catalog that had a recipe for one and just happened to have the ingrediants in the fridge. Pretty easy (cook meat, mix w/ eggs/veggies/spices/cheese, pour into casserole and bake for about 40 minutes).
