Nothing like the Holidays
I just read an interview with Freddy Rodriguez in Bust about this movie http://www.nothingliketheholidays.com/ .
We're not Puerto Rican (and my Mom hasn't announced that she's leaving my Dad), but this trailer looks SO much like the Marmontis! The wife of John Leguizamo's character has an expression at the dinner table not unlike Brian's when having to put up with all of us ('why are you all fighting?'). In particular, the discussions that the kids are having about stuff in the house going away and about last chances to do certain things are really resonating with me as we prepare to sell Gram's house (historically, the center of all family and holiday activity).
Freddy notes in his interview that this is the first holiday film about a Latin American family (Rodriguez is also producting it). I definitely want to catch it when its out.
