Good Things

I got up early today and did Pilates before work. I'm out of shape, but I feel pretty good for doing it.

Driving over the Charles on the way to 128, and marveling on how beautiful our hood can be: Watch Factory on the river, Mt. Feake Cemetary on the other side, colored leaves all over.

Had a good, interesting meeting. It makes getting there for 7:30 AM a bit less painful.

It's Friday, and we're seeing friends tonight for pizza and Clone Wars. I may even bake some cookies after work to bring along if I'm motivated. Yay baking! Or maybe I'll just buy something schmancy from the bakery a couple of blocks down.

Wearing a funky scarf today that I bought at my first Dragoncon inside the little Asian store that used to be along the walkway between the Marriott and the mall that connected to the Hyatt. I'm not a big scarf person, but this reminds me of the magic of that first year (kind of like the silk scarf I got in Como reminds me of the magic of that day, and being on the shores of Naboo).

Excitement for fall activities: NEG/AB events, halloween, foliage, walking through seaport town faires, pumpkins and apples and that kind of thing.

The yummy homemade black bean/veggie stew, just waiting for me to heat it up for lunch. With the last of the pumpernickle bread from Russos.

When you do pilates, do you do them at home? Do you have a DVD or something? I really admire your ability to get up and be active in the morning, and I'm trying to shift toward that lifestyle, so I'm trying to pick up pointers where I can. ;)

I have a video cued up on my laptop, so I just have to roll out of bed and make it to the geek room (which doubles as our exercise room). The one I have is http://www.amazon.com/Pilates-Beginning-Workout-Ana-Caban/dp/B00005M1XE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1255008828&sr=8-2 . I bought it years ago at the Discovery Channel store (along with another yoga video) and haven't tired of it yet.

I tend to be a morning person naturally, so though getting up at 5 am is tough, it's easier for me than being motivated after work to do these things. Getting them out of the way is nice.

I just ordered this and threw a couple in my wishlist so that if I like it, I can try a couple others. Thanks for the recommendation; I'll let you know how it goes! And if I get the others and like them, I'll pass the info along as well. :)

What evil sadistic person scheduled a meeting for oh-dark-30 a.m., and on a Friday?

"What evil sadistic person scheduled a meeting for oh-dark-30 a.m., and on a Friday?"

Our doctors, because they need the meeting out of the way so that they can go to the office and put in a full (plus) day saving lives. :)

Go you! I made it to the gym yesterday, which was full of awesome. I'm looking forward to not building stuff tonight!
