Ugh
I've heard from a friend at my previous company that more were let go last week. One woman in particular had been there 8 years and was a great lady, its a huge loss for them. Since many people left their jobs to work on the HIPAA project ( http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/hipaa/bkgrnd.html ), and since HIPAA will be done in less than a year most of those people will eventually lose their jobs (my friend's Melanie and Kim will be among them). And they've already started :/
I guess its good not to be alone in this all, but I feel like I did the last time a friend their lost her job - its a fact of this economy really which few are safe from, but it still makes me sick to my stomach.
Ah well, I have 2 interviews today (one of which is Hallmark Health, the one I'm feeling really good about despite a sucky commute) and then I have another interview at a start-up in Lexington this afternoon. Tomorrow I'll be heading to Harvard Pilgrim where I'll interview with 4 different people (eek) and I also need to call the VNA of Boston to schedule an interview with them.
This was going to be my relaxation and vacation week (that I had scheduled off from work months ago) and as a result B is home too. Its too bad I won't be able to see him much at all until Thursday (and then we'll be having "BG curve" day with the cat, where we need to take him to the vet every 2 hours to get his blood sugar tested for an update on how he's doing with his new insulin).
Ah, this weekend is our http://www.griffingrove.com/home.htm, I can't wait!

Hey!
I have a question; if I e-mail you a cover letter, resume and reference letter could you perhaps print them and walk them down the hall to the Center for Survey Research. This is just so weird. I REALLY wanted to try and find a job at Umass, I toured that place on Monday and thought it sounded neat. And today noticed the opening. EEK.
Thanks in advance!

Hopefully, we'll come to coffee, both gainfully employed once again...
