OK,
So why didn't any of you people tell me that "The Producers" was the Mel Brooks musical? It looks like we'll be ordering Bravo (if we don't have it) - I can't believe we don't have it, I'm not a big TV watcher at all - but I could probably watch that all day.
B and I checked out one of the greek restaurants in our area last night. The food was good, not great - the service was wonderful. I don't think I've seen that many greek men in once place before! From there we headed over to Newbury Comics and man was it odd - there were few cars in the parking lot for the whole shopping plaza (across the street from the Natick Mall, usually that place is packed). I don't think I've ever seen it that dead in the time I've lived in this area (before age 9 and since we moved here in the summer). I mean, after plows were out and things were shoveled I don't think the driving was that bad at all.
Related to snow, I'm not sure where it comes from, I just get annoyed when I hear people complain about the snow. Like, its New England, it snows here - and thus it gets slippery, cars canget stuck, and we have to shovel *shrugs*. I just figure, its like complaining about how the sky is blue, or how women get their period . . . what good does it do? I think its natural for Mother Nature to kick our asses from time to time and remind us that we aren't as cool or powerful as we think we are ;)
Anyway, I like the stuff - I think its pretty :) I was just bummed that it wasn't the sticky kind that you could build forts and snow men with. And, I'd like to point out, that its SO HIGH next to my driveway from shoveling piles of the stuff over onto our front yard in order to make room for my car - its actually higher than the hood and trunk of my car (not the roof though). Whoot!

yup. if you don't like snow, move south. or to the left coast. or to england, where they do speaka da ingles. snow's part of living here. imho, it's a wonderful part of living here. sure, it means that i have to work extra-hard on my driveway if i want to get my bike safely down my driveway, but you know what? it's snow! yay!
of course, it's easy to say this when i don't have to shovel much. our landlords bought a snowblower last winter, and he likes to use it. he even clears the guest space at the side of the driveway so that i can park there and it's easier to get my bike out! :-) i just come along afterwards with an ice hoe and shovel and clear off the last bits that pose no challenge to our cars but are bad for the bike.
of course, after yesterday's warm snow we have a sheet of quarter-inch to half-inch thick ice at the bottom of the driveway. i need to go get more salt so that today and tomorrow's warm temperatures can work with it to melt it enough that i can break it up and move it aside. maybe go for a ride tomorrow afternoon. :)

The stage production was freaking amazing. We went down to see it last Feb. and the only understudy performing was the judge (who has a five-minute bit at the end), and got to see Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick bust up laughing for five minutes during. You really need to pick up the soundtrack!
The production is coming up to Boston in June, some of the original cast will still be involved but the two leads will be other actors. It's an absolutely brilliant production, and you will laugh and laugh and then something even more outrageous will happen, and you will get a pain in your belly :)
