Another week
I'm only working 2 days this week. Here's hoping it makes the days go by faster as I churn to get a bunch of things done that I'd normally do over a few days.
Most of our weekend was spent at Supermegafest. It was our first attempt at a Rebel Legion table in the New England area, and I think it went well. We met some new people, found some possible recruits, inducted Kenny Baker (R2-D2) into our group, mended some tensions and even hammed it between the various SW groups there, raised a bunch of money for charity (The Jimmy Fund, Toys for Tots, for our Legion COs daughter fighting a brain tumor right now *and* put together a care package for one of the New England Garrison guys that is in Iraq right now), saw some very touching almost tear-inducing moments with some very excited kids, and got to bond a bit more with our fellow geeks. Its very touching working with a great group of people that are very dedicated to supporting the local community and also taking care of its own. Dorks we all may be - but we're dorks that have done a lot of good in just one small weekend!
Though I was a bit overtired and frazzled last night having no time to do things I'd normally do on the weekend (like laundry, homework, a bit of cleaning) I think we did good. You can see pictures here and here.
Off to work! It will be a busy couple of days, but I'm hoping to get out to Man Ray and see people on Wednesday (at least I know we'll DEFINITELY be there on Friday). Have a great week all!
