Last night we bought the rest of our Thanksgiving supplies, picked up the propane tank from Dad (ours is only a 5lb one and its low on gas), tested the fryer (it works), set the table (everything doesn't fit . . . we'll have some food on a side table) and cleaned the house. It left us some time to watch a few more episodes of Stripperella. The "innuendos" in there are awesome. For example, after she stops an out of control tank being driven by a monkey, leans over the front and blows into it to pop the top off and eject the monkey from the driving seat the nearby police officer states: "That was a great blow job! I'm going to go and spank my monkey now."

Today is the last day of work and I'm off for SIX WHOLE FRICKEN DAYS! Boy am I excited! Tonight I have class, and after that 3 more weeks to deal with. My mini vacation will bring an end to my internship paper work, a holiday tree lighting on the Waltham Common, a Dita Von Teese performance, a bellydance practice (a few hours on Saturday afternoon), a candle party (a few hours on Sunday afternoon) and a tour of 3 Newport Mansions all decorated for the holidays (Monday). I should also have time to bum around the house, do a bit of sewing, and frolic with the hubby.

I'm really liking this free time thing! :)

6 Days

I feel now as I prepare to leave the office for 6 days as I would as an undergrad before winter or spring break. The promise of a lot of time to myself and the opportunity to not only catch up with things, but to get *ahead* with things always makes me feel at peace.

I remember countless days sitting alone in my bedroom in my parent's house in a room that's now my brother's. I had a word processor (heh) that was a high school graduation present that I'd pound away at for hours writing papers about the industrial revolution, gangs and behavior modification therapy (ala A Clockwork Orange) or fighting with statistics. I'd spend time with my family, sitting and listening to music in my room, visiting friends at Bickfords, and hanging out at RHPS. Max would keep me company when I'd lock myself in my room to get that project that just wouldn't die done.

Its funny how some things don't change. The activities may but the general feelings, opinions, desires are still there 10 years later. As I age and see the patterns in life I wonder if they ever fully change.

Anyway, have a great week all! I won't be around the computer as much so if you need me, you know where to find me. Happy Thanksgiving!
