Sleepy Sleepy

Mina woke up around 1:00 for a bottle this morning, and Brian tried to get her into bed until about 2:00. She did sleep a teeny bit, but woke up crying. I went in and managed to soothe her back to sleep again, but by 3:00 she was up once more (teething? another impeding cold? who the hell knows).

She didn't want to lay and we didn't want to sit, so we brought her into bed with us. We'll do this when she is awake kind of close to her normal time. Usually on these difficult nights, she's able to relax snuggled up between us. But she tossed and tossed for a while. Around 4:30 or 5:00 (you kind of lose track) I picked her up, hugged her, and laid down with her on my chest/belly. She was able to calm and sleep for a little bit, until 5:30. At that point Brian took her to her room and I laid in bed until 6:00 for my shower.

It is interesting, how folks can be morning centric or evening centric. I'm naturally a morning person and do OK with sleep deprivation. Brian, not so much. I had wondered in the early days of truly no sleep (feeding her every hour), if the hormones helped women get through that stage more gracefully than their male partners. At this point though, I haven't been breastfeeding and have had a period for a few months. The trend continues.

It is going to be an early bedtime for us tonight, methinks.

She has been gnawing on things so much, that we had to take her board books away from her (eating little pieces of paper that were breaking off of the corners). For the last 2 days she's been trying to eat her clothing and stuffed animals (pulling pieces of fluff out of her mouth). Last night Brian gave her a little organic Happy Baby rice cake to nibble on and she was so, so excited. Maybe now that she had the teeth in the middle on top finally, she wants to USE them? I picked up some crunchy things for her at the supermarket this morning. I hope, hope, hope that she does not have another ear infection. These cranky nights either mean more teething, or another ear infection. I am sorry to say that my girl has inherited my awesome sinus issues where the congestion goes straight from your head into your ear. Someday, Momma will teach Mina how to use a neti pot, but today is not that day.

Glad it is Friday. :)

Manray Reunion

Are any of you folks (that haven't mentioned it already) planning on going to this Manray reunion on 2/1? We are wondering if it is worth it. On a Friday night. In Allston. Through Ticketmaster.
