Neato!

The concert was awesome. I can now check Queensryche off of that list of 'bands I really wanted to see in HS but never got to'. Next on the list I think would be Alice Cooper, if he ever comes around again.

I *really* liked Fate's Warning, I had never heard them before (probably because at that time I ignored anything that was too 'glammy'). The singer has an amazing voice, great energy and and the songs were catchy. I want to pick up some albums.

Dream Theater, eh. I never listened to them (though I recognized the first song they played, "Pull me under" or something like that). I loved the band, didn't like the singer. Its not that he was bad, just generic and had no stage presence. I guess the band met when they were students at Berklee, it definitely shows through. Yeah, and their bassist was yummy :)

Next show is less than 2 weeks from today - Iron Maiden, Motorhead and Dio. RAWK!

Oh, and Harborlights was awesome too: roomy seats, easy to get in, cool breezes off of the water. Yup, I had a good time!

Did the play a lot, or any, of Mindcrime?

Yup,

Yes, about 5 songs I think. The audience went NUTS. They even showed the movies that they used to show back in 'the day' of Operation Livecrime.

It was a lot of fun :)

I thought it was only three plus the intro/outro of mindcrime (Revolution Calling, Speak, Eyes of a Stanger).

It was awesome though, and they built nicely throughout the set to make that sort of the thrust of it. (Newish stuff, then old old stuff, then empire, then OMC, then the encore w/ new stuff and Best I can).

The band just sounded awesome.

DAMNIT!

Speak is still, to this day, my favorite 'Ryche song.

I'm glad you liked Fate's Warning. I am a huge fan. You might wanna start with "Disconnected", their more recent (and catchy) stuff. "Awaken The Guardian" is incredible, musically, and you might like the whole Ren Fair type lyrics. "Pleasant Shade OF Gray" is also really good.

I love Dream Theater. The fact that their singer has always been non-descript has never really bothered me, as to me Petrucci is the whole point of the band. Maybe the singer needs a pompadour :)

Hmmm... this sounds like something I'd like to see.
Now if I just were not so afraid of people and crowds!

I don't know if there are any tickets left or not, its at The Worcester Centrum on July 21st, if you want to go (but yeah, it will be crowded - its a big arena venue, not as big as a football stadium like is in Foxboro, but still very big nonetheless).

Fate's Warning is still around? Wow...

I can't believe these bands are still playing. That's very cool.

Fate's Warning played some newer songs - I can only guess that means they have a newer album and/or are coming out with one soon. They did mention last night that there is a new Queensryche album coming out 'next month', whatever that means.

Dream Theater, the singer actually didn't say much of anything in the time I saw them (about 5-6 songs before thenetimp and I left for the train).

DT's done writing sessions for their next project, but nothing complete. Mike Portney (drummer, key lyricist but not their only on) and James LaBrie (singer) have had a couple of side projects which the band often do between albums/tours. No, they don't talk much during the show. The songs are too long to bother (but I like it that way...).
