Updated Kitchen pics

Here's more of them, all we're lacking now is a sink, dishwasher and connected stove. We also need to finish the laundry area (we should hopefully be doing that tomorrow).

Go here, keep clicking "next" and when you see our ancient old original stove picture you're at the beginning of the directory and you're done clickie clickie

that's the part where dancer says all we need is a sink ;)

the plumber was on vacation this week, so no sink. her dad is coming with him some time next week. at that point he'll put the sink in, do little touchups, and really wrap things up.

i'm SOOOOOO excited.

Your kitchen cabinets are so beautiful. Is that cherry wood or mahogany? Such a wonderful deep wood tone. I'm envious of your fridge too! Love that steel look.

The wood was actually just oak and then we lightly stained and sanded it. It was a big pain in the butt, but it looks so nice now.

Awesome job really! I think it looks so beautiful...like a cherry wood.

It looks great!
BTW, what image program are you using? I really like the fact that you can put comments next to it.

Its something that Brian wrote - you'd need to ask him for how you could get it :)

Wow, it looks fantastic! I love the floor tiles - Home Depot?

Floor Tiles

[identity profile] dancer.livejournal.com 2003-08-08 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep, we got them at Home Depot. The thing that sucked was that we picked them out 6 months ago and they cost around $1.50 per tile. When we went to buy them finally they cost $2.00 per tile (ugh) - the thinset cement and grout also cost more . . . we probably spent like $700 on the floor tile and tile stuff alone, not fun!

Holy moly! It looks absolutely spectacular! And even better than that, it looks NOTHING at all like the same room. Yay!!!

I looked at the pics again, and the beginning photos as well (before it was restored), and it's so incredible how much work you have done to get to where it is now. Take a bow, because it is absolutely stunning! Kudos!

"I looked at the pics again, and the beginning photos as well (before it was restored), and it's so incredible how much work you have done to get to where it is now."

We bought this house expecting to do lots of work . . . that's why we got it cheaper than the other houses were had been looking at (that and, its further from Boston and not in the nicest area in the world . . . but we don't have kids now so its not too much of an issue). Having a Dad that is a contractor though makes all the world of difference. Free advice, free labor and in some cases, free supplies are what made it possible at all.

I envy you having a father who is a contractor...supplies and labor can be so expensive (not to mention just knowing what to do), but with help, it's excellent. I'm glad it worked out for you and your hubby.

So true about the location...some of the most beautiful historic homes I have ever seen, have been in less than savory areas, but my goodness...such wonderful houses...and the prices...amazing!

Every thing but the kitchen sink
