As expected

We didn't get the house (they went with an offer that had no contingencies). I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Back to the drawing board - it would make me feel better if more listings were popping up. I liked that retro kitchen, dammit!

awwww. well, another will pop up. there has been a huge increase in what i've seen come across my saved search lists.

what was the "retro" kitchen like again?

Retro kitchen

It was 1950's kitch - steel cabinets and counter top that was white and chrome, wide stove (think, the size of a 6 burner stove, only it still only had 4 burners). Red tile on the walls 3/4 of the way up, blue floor (think patriotic red, white and blue). The floor really need to go but the rest of it was really neat (and in very good condition).

Ah well, We'll find something. It just gets discouraging after looking at 10 houses (basically, anything coming on the market there in our price range) and finally being excited about something only to have it not work out. I know we'll find something, but with the money we're spending I'd like to actively like that something too :)

The home selling season has just started. Something will work out.
Still, I am sorry about your news.

Sorry you didn't get it. Guess you just have to tell yourselves that when its right time/place it'll happen for you. Best of luck! Hang in there.

Just because they accepted another offer doesn't mean that sale will go through. Still: boo!

Poop.

bummer.

But you guys are working toward the day where you have no contingencies!

i'm sorry to hear that J. i hope you find another retro kitchen soon. :)

Well, whatever un-retro kitchen you end up with can easily be solved with a visit to Sozio. :)

Big donkey balls. I am so sorry - just like Anders and Jay, you and Brian are a young, responsible couple who should be given every consideration. I know it is easier said than done, since what's on paper is all that matters these days. But you have certainly done your homework, and all of your effort is bound to be rewarded with good house karma. Fingers crossed!

sorry to hear it. :(

Soon you will be able to say "See this? It's a signed P&S!" and then things will get much better!

as mizdarkgirl said, the high season is just starting. something will come up, i'm sure of it.

Well, hopefully this means that an even better house that's really perfect for you is waiting. I've had a few things fall through on me before, house wise, and it turned out better that they fell through in the end. So keep up hope!

Meanwhile, yeh, that's sux scissors disappointing!
