Today's the greatest day I've ever known

Or not, but I'm excited about the weekend :)

I stopped by Hootenany last night to check out those white pleater boots - they are around $100. Gah! I don't want to spend $100 on boots I'm not crazy about. I need something for that groupie outfit though . . .

I'm getting excited about DC. I'll hopefully finish the trim on the stupid Padme pants tonight (I'm bringing them to goffee with me). Then I need to pose for photos with Brian so I can send them in and officially join the Rebel Legion (http://www.rebellegion.com/index.asp?IE=4). I can't wait to see how the Arwen gown and Mara Jade outfit look. Whee! Tiggerette and I talked briefly yesterday about clothes for Dragoncon - when she's back from her weekend we'll need to get planning (because there's not a lot of time left, so if we're going to be sewing something we need to operate at New England pace) :)

Yep, I tried Teddy's. They charge less on their website ($50) than in the store ($100). The shoes were crappy quality too - all scuffed and everything.

Would any of these ones at Garment District work?

"Would any of these ones at Garment District work?"

Thanks for the link! They are white - I'm not nuts about them, but at least they are only charging around $40 for boots I don't like (versus $100) :)

I'm going on a search on Saturday and may end up at the Garment District buying these.

Damn, I wish I wasn't so picky :) Its only a storm trooper groupie outfit!

Hey, if you can find a pair for less than $100 that are white and don't hurt your feet, I'd call that a win. :) If you spot any Goodwills or Salvation Army's, I've occasionally spotted pvc boots lurking in the shoe section, probably costume cast offs that may or may not be comfortable anyway. :)
I may see you at GD on Saturday, I have to pick up some costume ingredients myself.

"Hey, if you can find a pair for less than $100 that are white and don't hurt your feet, I'd call that a win."

Definitely! I want these things to be comfy, since I'm going to be standing around in them for a while (trying to maneuver my way through the mass of 50,000+ people at the con). Its why I didn't want to do mail order (comfort and fit: I always take different sizes between 8 and 9 depending on the shoe).

I just so not a go-go dancer boot kind of person. I was hoping to find something with laces but have yet to see one in a store that wasn't a total piece of junk (i.e. the ones at Teddy's).

Oh...OK. I was about to say the same thing, I went to the Garment District last night, saw them, and thought I had to tell you.
