I got into the show!

The first audition in 9 years and I got in (woo hoo)! Rehearsal starts on Sunday night.

The bunny is doing a bit better - not completely back to normal, but better. I really hope we can avoid taking him to the vet again (4 days this week was enough).

I've been listening to Tuesday's Buffy soundtrack way too much! Perhaps I'm a big cheezeball but musicals just do something to me; they make me want to sing, dance, hug someone, cry and laugh hysterically - all at the same time.

Its Friday finally, the end to a suck-ass week. So make the most of it!

Yay!
I can't wait to see you in it! Congratulations.

Aw,

You mean, you want to see me in some little "Santa Slut" costume that used to belong to some NYC Rockette? ;)

When I was in it before we had little red satin numbers that had REALLY short skirts. The last time that I saw the show with B (a few years ago) they had nice emerald green velvetteen dresses with short circle skirts all lined in white faux fur :)

I'm just excited about the dressing up - I haven't done it in a while!

Was there ever any doubt?

Congrats!

ignoring the singing skillz of some of the cast,
i was really up and down with some of the score for it.

when it stuck to introspective, folk oriented material, it was great.
xander and anya's comedy number (a la A Funny Thing Happened...) was very good
(even though xander can't sing at all).

but Spike's rock number,
and Buffy's mix and match number near the end...

really really awkward transitions in those songs.
and the intentional atonalities of the bridge
when working with people with marginal singing skillz?
bad choice.

it was a fun episode aside from the kiss, though.

Yup,

"when it stuck to introspective, folk oriented material, it was great. xander and anya's comedy number (a la A Funny Thing Happened...) was very good (even though xander can't sing at all)".

I think that song was a good typical example of "the musical comedy song". I also liked the instrumental number with Dawn dancing around the bad guys after she was kidnapped.

Most entertaining were the people dancing in the background (like the "they got the mustard out", the street sweepers and the main demon guy). Because THEY were cast for their dancing/singing ability (as opposed to the regular actors).

Spikes song was silly but I think he's cute so I'll forgive him :)

"and Buffy's mix and match number near the end... "

What hurt me more than the music was the choreography - I know that she was supposed to be upset and not gracefully dancing but that was just - ick! I don't know what that choreographer was thinking (I think that a good choreographer can make anyone look good, no matter what their dance ability).

"really really awkward transitions in those songs. and the intentional atonalities of the bridge when working with people with marginal singing skillz? bad choice".

They didn't sound great, I think it was more of a joke, trying to create the "typical" showtune experience by using "typical" showtune methods.

Any chance Brian could post the mp3s somewhere on his server for downloading?

Congrats on the show! Since I'll be living in the area by then, maybe I'll get to see it. :)

And I, too, have been listening the Buffy soundtrack a ton. I was singing it in the shower just this morning. And right now I have Life's a Show running through my head.

I knew you'd get in, they'd be crazy to deny such talent, but a big congratulations! I am coming to see this one for sure. Just get us the dates and information.

Oooh congrats on the show!! Keep us informed...

I'm glad to hear Flopsy is doing better. I'm sure all the hugs and love sent his way from everyone out here in LJ are working their magick. :) Coco is also sending some licks and nose wiggles to Flopsy... heh they could almost be twins. *grin*
