Nerdiness and Business
I just posted to the Rebel Legion board for the first time, trying to get info on the DC parade. Can I just tell you that I hate web boards? I also hate when people post things in boards that aren't related to their topic at all (thus contributing to poor communication). Ah well, I knew getting into this that the group as a whole isn't really technically proficient or learned in the ways of netiquette.
I got the pieces of the black surcoat sewed last night. I need to pick up some bias tape to finish inside the armholes (there's only room to fold the fabric over once - and I don't want the raw edges to be loose and fraying). The neckline needs some altering, but I'm going to do that after I get the red surcoat sewn (need velvet - hopefully will pick that up after work tonight). I'll need a buttload of gold trim; like 9 yards of it. I'm really not sure how I'm paying for these supplies, those for the Arwen Crown, and my tuition . . .
On the busy note, today I heard the story of Charlie Ravioli on NPR: http://www.languagehat.com/archives/000468.php . We could all take a lesson from Adam Gopnik's daughter on how busy we really are. Leave it to a child that calls the shots as she sees them to enlighten the parents. :)
PS - in case you couldn't guess, I'll be crafting tonight. Let me know if you want to join in the stich and bitch fun!
