I just posted to the Rebel Legion board for the first time, trying to get info on the DC parade. Can I just tell you that I hate web boards? I also hate when people post things in boards that aren't related to their topic at all (thus contributing to poor communication). Ah well, I knew getting into this that the group as a whole isn't really technically proficient or learned in the ways of netiquette.

I got the pieces of the black surcoat sewed last night. I need to pick up some bias tape to finish inside the armholes (there's only room to fold the fabric over once - and I don't want the raw edges to be loose and fraying). The neckline needs some altering, but I'm going to do that after I get the red surcoat sewn (need velvet - hopefully will pick that up after work tonight). I'll need a buttload of gold trim; like 9 yards of it. I'm really not sure how I'm paying for these supplies, those for the Arwen Crown, and my tuition . . .

On the busy note, today I heard the story of Charlie Ravioli on NPR: http://www.languagehat.com/archives/000468.php . We could all take a lesson from Adam Gopnik's daughter on how busy we really are. Leave it to a child that calls the shots as she sees them to enlighten the parents. :)

PS - in case you couldn't guess, I'll be crafting tonight. Let me know if you want to join in the stich and bitch fun!

Damn. I'm working second shift tonight or I'd definitely be interested. I really need to work on that gypsy costume.

I want to make myself one of those for Ren Faires at some point :)

I'd love to come visit you guys and craft with you up there (I know how it sucks to have to drive out to see people all of the time). Let me know if its easier to get together there at some point :)

OH! I'm going to a free bellydance class on Saturday - I was going to ask if you wanted to join (its around 1:00 or 1:30, in Brookline). Let me know if you may be interested (we could go together). Its a beginner level class with the teachers that I've been taking with. They are training someone else to be a teacher, which is why its free (its a earthy crunchy, goddess based group).

I'm definitely interested. If money & time weren't so tight I could see myself in a regular class. Let me know how you'd like to do this. :)

How about you come out to my house and we can car-pool?

Here's the class info:
http://www.thegoddessdancing.com/free_belly_dance_classes.htm

The class is from 1-2:15 in Brookline. How about you come out to my house at around noonish? It only takes about 20 minutes to get to Coolidge Corner from our house, but it could take a bit to find parking. We could go a bit earlier and if we get there really early walk around a bit and poke into some of the stores before class.

Yay! :) Just let me know if you still want to do this, and if you need directions again.

Sounds good!

I sent them an email letting them know that I'm interested in a spot if they still have one.

Sounds perfect. I've never been to any of the stores around there.

I definitely need directions. If you could mail them to me at paintd turtle at yahoo dot com (and take out the space between paintd & turtle), I'd appreciate it.

I'm excited about Saturday now! Heh.
