Thoughts

You wouldn't imagine it would be hard to find 6 yards of white polyester. Yeah, polyester is what old men's pants are made of, but it would be perfect for the ANH Princess Leia dress. I found 3.5 yards of something PERFECT last night but it wasn't enough. I'm going to try Fabric Place again after work where I can take the time to wander around (and I guess I could be FORCED to look in at the stuff at Freddie's!). I'm guessing Walmart would be good for it too, but I don't know when I'll have the time to get out there. I miss the days of having an Ames down the street . . .

I'm off work tomorrow, though I have to drive into Melrose for an 8:30 AM meeting anyway. We'll be visiting the Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, RI with the 501st. Its been a long time since I've been in a children's hospital (geesh, it was 1997 I think). That year I worked in one at my internship with DSS (at Franciscan's in Brighton) and spend a couple of weeks in one visiting my brother (at Children's in the Longwood area) and his busted head. Later he'd go to Franciscan's for rehab and that was convenient, because I could visit him before heading to the other floor for my internship. Its weird, because I never thought I'd be 'that kind of person' that could tolerate well the pain and illness in those kind of places (though, experience showed it to be true). I guess I'm good at mentally separating myself from people when necessary (despite being a very emotional person).

In other news, some people just need to get over themselves.

Its Thursday! That means there are burritos, friends and knitting (goffee) in my future in Davis Square tonight.

fabric shopping can be so frustrating--I try as hard as I can to shop local, but if local doesn't have what I need, I can't help support my local shops :-(

I now have Live Wire in my head.

Thank you. :)

Walmart

"Do you want to check Walmart for you?"

Thank you for the offer! I'll get there soon enough, there is no rush on this dress. I think I'd rather see the stuff in person before committing to anything. :)

Joanne's

No thanks. I checked the Burlington in Joanne's last night (they were the ones that had the perfect stuff, but only a small bit of it). I'll check Fabric Place again tonight, and Joanne's/Fabric Place/Walmart out in the Natick area when I have time :)

No kidding! I want to hit Sewfisticated and Sew Low, but don't know when I'll be able to get over there. You'd think plain generic white polyester would be easier to find at a moment's notice! :)

heh!

LOL, I was tapping that out on my desk with my left hand as I opened the comment email.

Though, to be correct, you've got an extra "da" on a couple of lines. Sorry, I'm a guitar nerd. :)

Sorry about that! I'm just a dance nerd, so I don't know the first thing about how this is played on the guitar :)

Are you going to the show by any chance? We're (aptly) going to Hooter's for dinner beforehand. :)

I'm not, actually. I thought long and hard about it and I have a feeling I'll regret it, but I'm just not sure about how cool it could be these days. They ain't exactly the ol' boys anymore (see first season of The Surreal Life for example).

Mmm, Hooters wings.

Or the Spike TV video music awards, blech!

I think the thing is, Mick Mars is just old and really sick. Vince is - what the hell is he doing? Nikki and Tommy still seem to got it going on though. The latter 2 have kept pretty active musically, coincidence?

If Joann's has it, have them call around for you.
I would be willing to pick up stuff in West Roxbury or Natick and bring it to you.
