Dinner in Central Square

What's your favorite place to grab dinner in Central Square?

I'm going with http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=flamingfemme to see http://www.longwoodplayers.org/html/la_cage_aux_folles.html tonight. We're grabbing food before the show, so where should be go?

I'm such a dummy, I had no idea that "The Birdcage" was based on La Cage. Bad Dancer!

it sure is. i'd give anything to have a diningroom set like what they have in the restaurant. but then again, i'd give anything to have a diningroom :)

I've had some pretty odd appitizers and desserts there, although overall I like the place, especially for live music.

Avoid the creme broule!

we've had dessert there, too. i don't remember what it was, but it was good.

I second the Hampsferatu.

If I could afford the time more often, Central Kitchen

The Asgard, as has been stated above. Shalimar of India has pretty good food as well.

River Gods - great pubbish with some ethnic flair food and I love the decor. On a Friday night, though, I'd recommend getting there before 8.

Desi Dhaba - the place has somewhat of a cafeteria feel to it, but the food is great.

Though I haven't been, there was just a review of the Green St Grill as being too often forgotten because it's off the beaten path. it is lively (but not noisy) and the new chef has toned down the heavy spices while still being somewhat caribbean-inspired.
