Whew!

Crazy, crazy weekend! I'm looking forward to sitting in the house tonight :)

Friday was Manray with the 501st (pictures forthcoming). Boy am I glad we got there early! I actually had a much better time on Wednesday, having more room to dance and enjoying the music more. I'm looking forward to the supposed future incarnation of the club.

On Saturday after the monthly Stitch and Bitch in NH (brought some knitting, always a good time) I headed home to meet Erin for the http://www.walthamtheband.com/ show. It was sold out by 9:30, and alas EJ, I wasn't able to find someone to take your ticket (everyone going in for a while when we first arrived had them already). We caught http://graveyardbbq.com/ first. I can't tell if they are supposed to be a joke or not, but the guys are talented and the set was entertaining (and it was cool to finally see them, and with Dave too - Friday was apparently his last show). Then followed http://www.morganknockers.com/morgan%20knockers2.html who I was excited to see, since I enjoyed them at a previous show. I could have done without http://www.seemlessband.com/seemless_index2.html - they weren't bad, but just didn't grab me. The majority of their set (the earlier part) was more Nu Metalish and the singer had a solo Glen Danzig thing going with his vocal technique. They ended their set with some heavier songs that I did enjoy, including an Only Living Witness (!) cover http://www.roughedge.com/cdreviews/o/onlylivingwitness.htm . The Waltham set was fun as always, and they played a good mix of old and new including the 'Kid from Moody' song and 'Fast Times'. They finished the set with an encore of Kiss' "Shout it Out Loud". It was a lot of fun, but weird at the same time. The place was packed but I could find few people I knew (though it was nice talking with Alex, Cat, Robbie and Johnny K). I only briefly said hi to 2 of the band members (I didn't even get a word in with Pete), and saw HS friends across the room that I was unable to reach through the crowd. I think they are crossing that threshold past being the easily accessible local band that you can just shoot the shit with, you know? I'm happy for them, but its kind of sad at the same time . . .

Today brought lots of searching for Boba Fett bits for Brian (no cleaning the craft room or sewing for me, alas - and I'm just not in the mood anymore). I'm looking forward to relaxing with what we've recorded from Firefly thus far (the 3 hour pilot episode) later this evening - we've got to get through the series before Dragoncon since Joss Whedon and a good deal of the cast will be there, I'd like to know what the heck the whole Firefly thing is about.

When you get a chance, could you dig up that link on jawa costume construction for me? I just realised that I've only got three months to fix my eyes and the robe, and the boots should go to version 2.0 also. :) I think I found a new bolt of fabric that should work with a bit of dye, but need to double check on it...

There isn't a page, but he wrote something up on the New England Garrison web board. The text is too long to post here - I'll put in a separate LJ post for you :)
