Other Monday, another week

We started painting our kitchen cabinets last night. Its looking like its going to be quite nice when we're done (2nd coat tonight)! Next we'll move on to the messy bits - ripping out the wall tile, fixing the wiring/lights, plastering the holes. The new counter goes next (dark green, same as Framingham), then new wall tile (same as Framingham) and some decorative texturing. We're doing the same type of Venetian Plaster finish that we had in Framingham, only this time we're just doing it with joint compound and painting that rather than spending the $ on the expensive and pain in the butt to put on "Venetian Plaster" stuff that was almost $30 a gallon. Lastly, we'll paint it all, install some wall shelves to the left of our fridge after removing the useless ones on the right side and moving the fridge to the right a bit (painted the same color as our cabinets) and enjoy! We should be done with this before the end of the year. Our white appliances will look kind of silly for a bit, but we're hoping to remedy that after tax refund time with new ones (our stove is piss poor anyway). No more white kitchen! At some point $ willing we'll put in a new ceramic tile floor (we miss the gray stone-like stuff that we had in Framingham that ran from the front door through the kitchen and into our laundry room) but given that the stuff is expensive and the wood floor we have in there now is just fine, we'll stick with that for the time being.

After the kitchen work is done I'm hoping we can plan building a closet in the craft room. Our bathroom is actually the old walk in closet for that room, so we have a serious lack of storage space. I'm hoping one full wall can be taken up by a massive closet, freeing up a lot of space in the room and giving us more room in our other 2 cluttered closets. All in good time . . .

I'm hitting the gym tonight for the first time in weeks. The MOS stuff started up, I had a cold, and then Halloween hit. My left shoulder is still sore from Friday's flu shot (!), but I should be OK. I'll probably just put in some time on the Elliptical machine.

I have to really kick butt at work today. Though I've been busy working I've felt like I just haven't gotten a lot of things done that need doing. In good news, my role on the EMR project should be decreasing since they've hired a Project Manager. This is just fine with me, because it leaves me more time to analyze data (which is what I was hired for after all).
