A meme

1. Elaborate on your default icon.
Me at a New Year’s Party. I had gone through a trying time recently and wanted to let loose and have a silly time. Helena and I dressed up with gothic superheroes, “Gothess” (me) and “Pierceling” (Helena)

2. What's your current relationship status?
Married with three fuzzy kids

8. If you could go back in time, and change something what would it be?
I’d be a bit more straightforward about things as a teen (rather than not saying things so as not to hurt people’s feelings). My holding back definitely complicated some things – its why I tend to be fairly blunt now.

9. Ever have a near-death experience?
Sort of. I was held at knifepoint at the Burger King I worked at in 1993 right before Xmas (it was late at night, and the masked guys trying to hold us up just walked in the open back door, I was the lucky first one to meet them).

10. Name an obvious quality you have.

nope

15. Have you ever vandalized someones private property?
I guess technically yes – friends and I did the toiletpapering on Halloween thing years back, in the Gardencrest Apartment complex

almost

17. Have you ever sung in front of a large audience?
yes

18. What's the first thing you notice about the OPPOSITE sex?

20. Have you ever hurt yourself on purpose?
nope

21. Say something totally random about yourself.
I like cheese

22. Has anyone ever said you look like a celebrity?
years ago a friend’s Mom swore I looked like someone on her soap opera. Recently some have said I look like Carrie Fisher when I’ve been in the Leia getup (though, I don’t see any resemblance whatsoever)

23. Do you wear a watch?
yes, usually a generic women’s timex that’s water resistant, has the stretchy band, has the indiglo backlight, and costs me $20 at Sears
24. Do you have anything pierced?
2 holes in each year

25. Do you have any tattoos?
yep, El-ahrairah from Watership Down on my lower back

26. Do you like pain?
nope, but its important nonetheless

27. Do you like to shop?
nope

28. What was the last thing you paid for with cash?
my lunch, a seafood wrap from the café across the street

29. What was the last thing you paid for with a credit card?
I can’t remember, I try not to use them often

30. Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone?
the office manager for one of our practices

I did (BA and MA) and that’s enough for me!

39. What is your favorite pair of pants that you own?
”curvy” jeans from Old Navy

40. Do you like to party?
But of course! SxE of course, though.
41. Where do you see yourself in five years?
Honestly, I have no clue. There are some things I’d like to have done, but I’m open to possibilities.

#25! You are the only other grownup I know that has even read that book. Pracca!

So you'll know what I mean when I say to look out for that hrudril, right?

Watership Down

"#25! You are the only other grownup I know that has even read that book. Pracca!"

I think Brian read it (after I told him he'd probably like it). I was a fan of the 70's animated movie well before I knew there was a book (the book is WAY better). :)

"So you'll know what I mean when I say to look out for that hrudril, right?"

Was that the wolf? I can't remember - its been a while :)

My tattoo is actually based on the animated El-ahrairah from the tribal style animation done at the early part of the movie, where the rabbits are telling the creation story (about Frith, etc): http://tk7602.livejournal.com/2001/12/21/

I've always been a fan of rabbits, but I like him in particular because of this:
"El-ahrairah, your people cannot rule the world, for I will not have it so.
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a Thousand Enemies,
and whenever they catch you, they will kill you.
But first they must catch you,
digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning.
Be cunning and full of tricks
and your people shall never be destroyed."

"So you'll know what I mean when I say to look out for that hrudril, right?"

Oh, is that the car? pronounced 'roo-doo-doo' or something like that:
"a roo-doo-doo, it runs on it [the road]"

Yes, it's bunny-talk for a motor vehicle. I too liked the creation story.

(I think we bought it on DVD a couple years ago)

LOL! Soooo many of your responses would be like mine! And Watership Down is my favourite book. I have read it five times, though not since college. Such a beautiful yet chilling story. And definitely explains your bunnylove! :)

I have to gank now.
