My Dad is a big sap, he made me cry:

My mind goes back like it was a month ago to that day in Waltham Hospital, there I am pacing the hallway's while Mom rested and sitting with her doing the breathing stuff and still...no baby.......20 something hours later and the nurse says...you can hold her now and leads me by the hand to your incubator.
I feel myself getting weak thinking there is much wrong and you are sick. Why is her head all bruised ???? Oh she say's that's just birth trauma....... What about the throbbing...are there broken bones ??? No......as I said...birth trauma....There is so much blood....is that normal ????? Yes...it is John....Could she have brain damage because of it...???No, everything is perfect...Why are her fingernails grown over the tips of her fingers ????? Oh....they will drop off, she should have been born a few weeks ago but wasn't
ready.... Why wasn't she ready...is there a problem....???? No Mr. Marmonti...she just wasn't ready......sometimes baby's do that...
Oh...I say...good then. John, Would you like to hold her......??? Uh....maybe I should wait until she is better....? The nurse opens the little door, puts you in my arms and say's...she's ready now. I get weak again thinking you will break or something and she notices... Mr. Marmonti...it's ok...she won't break....Oh...okay...so I sit for an hour until I can see Mom.....I am afraid to place you back so the nurse does that for me.....the next day you are all pink and happy and called the "Marmonti Moose" [I weighed almost 9lbs, and that was huge back then]
We live in a little house, have a crappy job(s) and get by on 25.00 weekly for groceries but it is all worth it, for a while the earth and stars stand still as we watch you grow. I see you when you puke your cereal at me at 7am, at 530 when you puke your supper at me and watch you sleep a bit when I get home from Art school for another 3 years. Sometimes I would sit with you and Mom if you woke up late at night, you would burp and puke on my shoulder.....so much puke !!
Well, happy birthday to my first little baby girl, my life would have been empty without you. See you Sunday

Being compleatly hormonaly imbalanced I have tears running off my chin and a sappy grin on my face, Jeff just read over my shoulder and now he's busy giving Eli a thousand daddy kisses. I hope you have a truely wonderful birthday
