Phew

We got everything moved into our new bedroom last night except for my clothes. I can't believe it, because I KNOW better than this, but I used semigloss poly on the bureau (and not high gloss as I had wanted to - that's what the other pieces in the set have). We went down to the garage to start moving it upstairs and I realized that it wasn't done yet. DAMN! I'M SO SICK OF WORKING ON THIS THING! AND I STILL HAVEN'T POLISHED THE HARDWARE YET.

Its totally because I haven't enjoyed the whole process of refinishing it and I was being careless when I bought the poly months ago at Home Depot. I didn't want to do it and wasn't in it, but did it anyway for the final result (it was just too costly to pay someone to strip and refinish the thing, I couldn't bring myself to pay it). It will look really awesome when its done, and it will be nice to have the entire set finally completed. I'm just so mentally done with the whole thing its been hard to motivate myself to work on it!

We moved everything else instead, put up blinds, cleaned and put new linens on the bed. It still left us with enough time to hit Home Depot before they closed (to buy some gloss poly), hit the supermarket for needed groceries and spend time with Mal before bed. Despite the bureau snag the new bedroom is looking very nice. I can't wait until I have the time to switch the contents of the closet, put things on the walls and organize the new craft room (which looks huge now for some reason)! When we're all done and the new bureau is in there we'll take pictures of everything we've been working on.

I know I take a lot of tasks on and that they are things that don't necessarily need to be done. Still, its frustrating that there is only so much time in the day. The result is always worth it, but I get a bit frazzled having all of these half finished things going on in the meantime. :)

Helping Hands Party

If you need help with stuff at the house and sick of doing it yourself, do what my aunt did a few years ago..... Throw a helping hands party. Invite some friends over one day to help you get your house in order and then at the end feed them BBQ.

If it's any consolation (for more than a fleeting nanomoment), you (both of you, indiviudally and collectively) get more done in one day than most of us can dream of in a week. (In my case, more than I dream of in a month!) You are the person I hate to love. :-)
