Wow, how is that for service

"Dear *name*,

I do have many Waltham wristwatches that can be repaired as well as art deco Waltham wall clocks. The clocks are hanging in the store but the watches are not all together. Some are in the store and others are at my home waiting to be repaired. If you want to see them let me know in advance and I can bring them with me to the store. There are also smaller mens watches that women frequently wear."

Neat! I'm going to figure out when the store is open and check out what's there.

See if you can get pictures :) I'm curious, I really don't know anything about Waltham clocks/watches (can you tell I didn't grow up in the area?). I can tell you the corporate history of Dow Chemical though... ;)

Most people don't know much about Waltham Watches, except for dorks like me really into Waltham history or people that had relatives that worked in the factory.

Here's some info:

They are still around, in another form (now Swiss): http://www.waltham.ch/

If you're into industry, the city has a really neat history (both in manufacturing and technology). This is a place worth checking out:

Neat, you'll need to share that some time! :)

That's a really interesting article, and the fact that the Swiss arm of the company still exists is pretty cool too. It's definitely fun to find out about pioneers that you're close to, even if it is just geographically. You'll definitely have to let us know how the shopping trip works out :)

I'm sorry, I can't resist....

WOW, how did they know your name was *NAME*?! That's uncanny!
