For those curious, its Torbutrol that Mal is taking for the next 4 days. Yikes!

The primary side effect is actually sedation, but according to this, "some animals may become over excited":

Of course Mal can't just be any animal; he has to be *some* animal! :)
The interesting thing is that the bottle doesn't actually say what the drug is (they wrote it on a separate piece of paper). Security measure perhaps? Either way, kitty likes it!

And this is why they gave you the name on a separate piece of paper, so that Mal can't just grab the bottle and go to the neighborhood cat drug dealer and say "Hey man, can you get me some of this good sh#&*t?"

I know this for a fact (I was the one who filled the prescription).
and yes, some cats can get a bit excited on it (they also really enjoy their pre-anaesthetic drugs). remember that he only needs to take the meds if he is in pain, so if he seems ok without it, you don't have to give it or you can give a 1/4 pill instead of 1/2. there are also other pain relievers we can put him on if the Torb isn't right for him. we tend to use Torb for cats because its one of the safest pain reliever with the least side affects for cats.
