I forgot to update! Brian just put a post in his own journal (TK7602) about our outdoor kitty. He definitely had a good deal of damage done to his poor face but its clear now its old, and healed as well as it could be. He let us pet him last night and we gave him some more food.

We're just going to call him our outdoor cat and see where things go. He's not underweight, and someone must have taken care of him at some point for that jaw to heal the way it did, despite its permanent damage. If its cooler and he's still hanging out in our yard we'll pick up one of those heated doghouse things for him to get some shelter in.

If he let you pet him then he's not feral, just lost/abandoned and skittish. (I know you know this, just belaboring the obvious!) Let us know anytime if we can help, you know what a sucker I am for them.
