From the Intranet:

Quote of the Day "Time is a dressmaker specializing in alterations." - Mary Catherine Bateson

******

Okay, so what do YOU think this means?

That your QOTD person threw back a couple of cold ones at lunch. ;)

I was going to say something metaphorical like "Time only changes what we have... only we can create or destroy"...

But your probably more correct than I am...

possibilities:
1. if it looks like it's going on a bit long, time will cut it off abruptly at the end.
2. you progress a little bit at a time, but if you go too far or trim too much, there's no turning back. -or-
3. time has a tendency to "accidentally" stick you in the side with straight pins.

i'm kidding, actually. i have no idea what that quote is supposed to mean.

I think it's about the body.

As we get older it changes. Bigger, smaller, firmer, softer, taller, shorter... there's not really a whole lot that can be done about it, except to have someone else make alterations against the alterations time makes.

Although the "it occasionally sticks you with straight pins" is probably also correct.

The unstoppable nature of change due to the passage of time...?

(don't mind me, I'm just a single-celled texan)
