That would be it. Big pieces of plastic, which is what the dealer called "crumple zones" The "steel safety cage" isn't supposed to crumple. Or so they say. What it means is that one little bang breaks things and forces replacement of a whole piece. I keep thinking "I should get a bike" then I read stories like yours from earlier. *shudder* Mostly because I don't suck, but also because I know cool people who ride, I give cycles a wide berth, and much road respect. _I_ don't want to be the one who hits a bike, thanks.
