Feeling good

Who said geeking isn't useful? This weekend 2 Stormtroopers collected donations for the American Red Cross in their buckets. Its estimated by the end of the weekend they had $17k.

All in total from celebrities donating proceeds from photo/autograph sales, people collecting like our TKs, and other groups doing fundraisers, Dragoncon staff estimated at the close-out meeting that the weekend's fundraising at the con was at around $170k total. One hundred seventy thousand dollars!

Free Stuff

I cleaned up my craft/costume room a bit. In the process I found some really pretty fabrics (a shiny red velvet with purple and black undertones, a shiny PVC looking fabric, some lush purpley-burgandy satin that I was going to make a robe with and then decided against) and some ornate red+black frog closures that I bought in NYC in Chinatown the last time Brian and I went. I need to do something with all of these! First though, I'm going to mend the backlog of things that have been piling up.

As with anytime I go rummaging and organizing in the house, I'm getting rid of some things. Let me know if you want them (we can meet so you can get - I'm not shipping). We'll be at goffee tomorrow, if people want to grab them there (alternately I can meet you somewhere or you can get them at my house in Waltham).
