"Hi Kids,
With the help of the Sandown NH town hall I found the house my Grandfather, Papa & Gram, and Lol [Aunt] & Carol [Aunt] lived in from 1949 to mid 1950. You have seen the pictures of it as a shack and how he added on and made it his own. My Dad and him built the fireplace and engineered it with fans to heat the both living room and the study behind it. The original house was built in 1880.
I wrote to the current owners, sent them our pictures and we met them Sunday and got a complete tour, it was amazing to see all the stuff I only saw in photo's and walk where they walked. We got a picture of the 3 of us on the front porch and also the owners. They had a picture of the people they bought it from in 1978 on the steps so we now have 4 generations of that. He is a hot air balloonist and has won competitions across America.
He had a second floor added on the 2 bay garage/shed my Grandfather built and has built 2 small airplanes up there. He has a 30' bridge out the back up to the 3 acre meadow where he flew the planes !!!! The woman's hobby is collecting cookbooks and she now has 7000 in library shelving. They still have the original toilet paper in the outhouse that my Grandfather left there as told by the former owners and I took a picture of that and the rest. The owner also has photo's he is going to put on CD for me and the town wants them all for the historical society archive, it was a very good unexpected day for us all and they want to keep in touch with us.
