We've been in rain hell, fighting over the last two days to keep the water from winning in our basement. Being a Charles River city (love that dirty water), Waltham was particularly hard-hit. For some perspective, know that we live on Newton Street and near Moody Street, and read these articles http://www.dailynewstribune.com/news/x1514353984/Waltham-reels-from-days-of-rain and http://www.dailynewstribune.com/news/x1514353982/Governor-on-hand-as-workers-try-to-shore-up-dam . I shudder to think what would have happened if we didn't managed to buy 2 automatic sump pumps, or if we lost power, of if we were unable to be in the basement pushing water toward the pumps every hour. I am thankful to have a roof over my head and the resources to care for it. We also have many plans for improvements to come, putting more attention to issues that we were aware of, but were emphasized with this storm (total basement waterproofing, repointing our chimney in the attic, better organization of things in the basement).

It's a new day though. In the interim of this storm I got some good results back from a medical test that I had. I have some hormonal issues that I need treatment for, but won't need anything more invasive, and for this I am greatly thankful.

Spring, dance class tonight. I am blessed.

I am officially grateful that our basement flood stopped at the 12 inch mark, if we'd had 2+ feet, it would have been a whole new level of suck.

*shudders at the thought of 5+ feet of water*

One of my favorite things about reading your LJ is how you always put things in such good, positive perspective. It helps remind me to do the same with my life. :)

I'm glad you guys survived the crazy waters out there, and I'm definitely glad to hear that you won't need anything invasive for the treatments!

I am very glad you won't need any invasive treatment!

Was thinking about you and Brian during all this flooding. Thank the goddess we have attic storage.
