The close up 3D pictures of baby now are creepy! There's currently not a lot of fat on our dianoga right now, so she looks very skeletal.

The ultrasound tech did her thing for a while and gave us the pics and then left, to go out and find one of the MDs to repeat the scans and make sure that everything looked right. Brian commented that the baby looked very creepy at this stage: kind of like the Red Skull or the Terminator.

The MD came in and poked around some more, saying that everything looked great. She gave us some more pictures and we were free to go.

As I was cleaning off the goo on my belly and getting myself together Brian commented again on the Red Skull. Captain America had fought her and that Hugo Weaving was in my belly. As if there was any doubt that my husband was a huge nerd.

I joked we should name her Hughette (terrible, terrible name that belonged to one of his Grandmother's sisters).

Interesting, they did show me how my placenta is attached at the front of my belly (high enough up not to be a concern in covering my cervix), so I probably won't feel any motion for a while. She could punch and kick away and there is a good deal of tissue there blocking her from hitting me - for a while. Long, long active legs too. Dancer has a dancer baby!

Awesome! Any names being considered, or is it too early yet? (I mean, aside from Hughette: ugh, don't do that. As if you would.)

I got named after relatives. Relatives I didn't like. When I turned 30 I got up the nerve to change my first, middle, and last to something I liked. After spending my high school and early 20 years trying on different names. Some of them are really funny to remember: In high school I told people I was Khristiane Dorleac. I got the first from some model in Vogue magazine: the second is some Catherine Deneuve's sister's last name. In college I tried on Gabrielle for size. Clearly, I just wanted to be someone else from some other family. :-) No such problem will happen to y'all, for sure!
