Try comparing your knitted clothes to some of the store bought to give you an idea of sizing. Warning, just like adult clothes, baby clothes are not sized universally. You may find something labeled 0-6 that is smaller than something labeled 3mo, or some variant thereof.
I strongly recommend putting out the call for people to bring you food after the baby arrives. Not having to prep meals for the first few weeks is a huge load off. There are free on-line services that you can plug your info into or you can use a simple spreadsheet on google docs. The organizer in you will love it. It can also work if people want to sign up to come over and help with things like dishes, laundry, giving you shower or nap time, or just a general visit so you don't get overwhelmed with too many people in a day.
