The lock is actually just a manual thing (though, when you do clean the oven it does lock). If you hold down the stop button for 3 seconds, it locks. To unlock you need to hold down the stop button again for 3 seconds. Of course, to bake something you hit bake and set the temp. Holding down the stop button to lock it, just stops the baking. I'm sure there has to be some kind of child safety setting. It is a fairly new oven and it seems like a no-brainer thing to include in it. I just need to dig the manual out from our basement. :)
