dancerjodiThey called me a little while ago - its the Head Gasket or the Freeze Plug (well duh, that's what my regular mechanic said in the first place). It will take them a couple of hours more to confirm because they have to take out the power steering pump and "a bit of the engine" - whatever that means.
He left the decision up to me, do I want to spend around $800 to fix the head gasket if that's what the problem is? Either way, I'm paying a few hundred dollars just for the labor to diagnose the problem.
So I told them to go ahead. I want my car to be operational. I don't want to have to keep checking the antifreeze all of the time, wondering when the engine will just go. And then I'll focus on paying the damn thing off so that it won't be a huge deal whenever I do decide to sell it.
They are calling later to absolutely confirm (and give me a price). Soon it will be over. I CAN'T WAIT!
