I'm at my desk listening to the radio, forgot my CDs AGAIN! I need to just burn some that I can leave here to entertain me. I brought in my own holiday decorations for my office since I was feeling lacking after last Friday's lunchtime decorating spree (we decorated the hallways, the kitchen, the copy room and people decorated their own individual offices. Now I've got some lighted greenery stretched across the bookshelves over my desk, some pretty silvery snowflake garland hanging on my door, and a little wreath made out of blue and silver bells hanging off of my mail slot on said door.

Cinnamon roll oatmeal is yummy :)

I had a revelation on holiday gifts this morning while driving to work - I'm going to make a donation to The American Cancer Society in a few people's names rather than giving them a full-scale gift (though, I'll probably give them a card with a candle, or something). They are the kind of people that have everything, don't need anything else and are always difficult to buy for. And, two of them lost their husband's to cancer, one of them lost her dad to cancer and the fourth is always doing volunteer-type work so I know she'll appreciate it.

Hmm, now I'm going to need to make more of an effort to donate to charities, since I don't work at THP any more I don't have the option of signing up for United Way or Community Works (and having the money come directly out of my check at each pay period).

I'm almost done with classes - I have one today, one Wednesday and one next Monday. I'm hoping to just finish up papers this week (or at least, finish one of them this week) so I can enjoy next week and start working on sewing the fleece sweatshirt that I always make for my nephew for Xmas (my papers are due the 18th and 19th). The sweatshirt this year will be on a fuschia fabric that has bats all over it; I bought the stuff on Halloween clearance and can't wait to see the thing. Each year I make a different kind of jacket/sweatshirt thing for him and each year he's been really excited about it. He wears it around the house to keep warmer in the winter and out to play in the spring.

We took some neat pictures of our hood this weekend; we walked down to the center to run some errands and check out the scary toy soldiers up close. Once B takes the pix off of the camera I'll post the link here. He's also found the pictures that he took of The Wallex in Waltham right before they closed and razed the place! :) Once he locates them I'll let you know where those are too. The place was so neat, forgotten in time with its old hot cocoa vending machines, the carpeted walls and the He Man paintings inside of the Roller-Rink (sniff, I'm getting sentimental for the home town again).

I'm excited, this weekend we'll be actually GOING OUT of the house, to Manray, to visit friends in NH and to a holiday party (geesh, looks like I'll need to spend Sunday doing homework). Now what should I wear on Friday . . .

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
