Was a nice but busy weekend. We entertained on Saturday (a breakfast AND a lunch) and went to a lovely, bittersweet party that night.

Yesterday was our marathon day trip to NYC with my brother and his GF. I found where some of the fabric stores were (yay!) though they were all closed; must go back at some point. We checked out the MASSIVE Victoria Secret on 6th ave *swoon* and went into FAO Swartz and the huge ToysRUs in Times Square that has a ferris-wheel in it (!) . We ate at the overpriced but not too bad Celebrity Deli for dinner (had lunch at Dojo's on St. Marks) while waiting for bro and GF to get out of their show. It then took over TWO HOURS to actually get out of Manhattan and the Bronx - I don't know what was going on, but we sat in traffic on 95 before the tolls heading out for around 2 hours (to see what we thought was an ambulance maneuver through only to read it said "bomb squad" on the side).

Yeah, so I'm tired. In addition to homework tonight I see sitting around in my PJs and doing laundry in my future.

Totally unrelated, I think I'm finally going to get an e-bay account and paypal, of course. I have some stuff that I think I'm going to sell in an attempt to clear the clutter. Any 'tricks of the trade' you'd like to pass on to me?

Things with gallery pictures sell better, and always write an accurate description of the object. If it's clothes, put in the size and inch measurements for major parts. If you've got manuals for electronics + such, make sure you make note of that. And I usually put the reason I'm getting rid of it, just so people don't think it's a piece of junk.

Have fun! :)

"Things with gallery pictures sell better"

What's a gallery picture?

"And I usually put the reason I'm getting rid of it, just so people don't think it's a piece of junk. "

That's a great suggestion, thanks!

Well, you should definitely put in a picture because most things without pictures don't sell at all.

A gallery picture is when you pay a few extra pennies (I think it's a dollar or two) to have your picture appear next to the listing in a search. Also, if you search, you can select a "gallery" tab that only shows you photos of what you've searched for. I think people use these pictures alot, so paying the extra buck improves the visibility of your listing.

Your NY trip sounds like a lot of fun. I've never been there but now that you mention a huge Toys R Us and some fabric stores I'll have to go. ;)

Speaking as a buyer on eBay, I like it when things have a "Buy It Now" option. As longs the price for buying it now is not much more than the beginning price I'll usually use that option.

I also like it if there are pictures and great well-worded descriptions. Oh, and the obvious thing that every one should put in there; shipping costs and who should contact the other first - the buyer or the seller.
