Its a crazy, crazy day
Nov. 14th, 2000 10:58 amThis week has been so hectic at work and its only Tuesday morning at 10:30! Sometimes I wish I could have some silence so that I could enjoy my tea and music at my desk and get some work done.
Things have been a bit up in the air here with my team - we're in charge of the data analysis for our Senior Citizen health plan. In a matter of a couple of months we lost a supervisor and very cool co-worker and things have just been a bit frazzled.
Its funny, working with lots of geeky analysts and being one of the few social and communicative people in the department. There has been lots of miscommunication on projects lately due to people not really having that skill. I've had lots of last minute "Oh my God, can you do this right now - its due tomorrow" projects this week . . . I don't like how anxious it makes me feel.
I like to be busy at work, some people are amazed by the amount of stuff that I take on. But not having clear boundaries and due dates makes it more difficult to get the job done. I've also had a lot of "check this funny data and figure out why its funny" issues to deal with. I like investigation when there is lots of time to do it, but its difficult to concentrate with 10 billion other things going on.
I have dancing tonight (tap and jazz) - and then hopefully will get together with friends at ManRay and Diesel later in the week. Its those kind of things that are my stress relief :)
