Its Friday, Its Friday - yipee! This week has been so crazy at work and I'm so glad that its over! Yesterday I had one of my most 'sensitive' work challenges yet . . . to write a memo to some providers that slammed us in one last week. They claimed our analysis was wrong and bashed us . . . upon some research we have proven that they are TALKING OUT OF THEIR BUTTS and I had to write a nice letter illustrating that fact without directly being insulting. Yay business politics!
Last night I had my first bellydance class since the summer with the Goddess Dancing - they rock my world! It was weird that the class was smaller and more quiet/conservative than the one that I studied with in the summer. Not to mention the fact that last night we were in a cold basement classroom with no heat and everyone was in layers . . . in August we were in a steamy third floor room and everyone was half naked, wearing sports bras and spandex shorts. What a difference!
I'm excited, I figured out a longstanding problem with me and bellydancing. In the summer I developed serious pain in my knees, kind of in the joint on the inside of each knee. Last night it started happening again and I tried to pay attention to what I was doing wrong. Bending knees enough? Check! Tucking my butt under? Check! I pulled the teachers aside at the end of the class to ask them . . . I was turning me feet out like in ballet instead of keeping them parallel - DOH! The knees aren't build to take that kind of 'shimmying pressure' with feet turned out. Hopefull all will be fine from now on.
It was nice to get back to it - very relaxing. Our warm-ups are very yoga-esque and will help me with flexibility (which I've been slacking on lately). And its great to be dancing just for me . . . not learning a routine to perfect and perform in a show down the line.
After class I got B, took K home and went to Netgoth Coffee - damn it was crowded! And there were a bunch of newer netgoth people that I've never talked to which was cool. Its nice to have a growing group but I get nervous that Diesel will get annoyed and kick us out one of these days. MMmmmmmmmmmm - the Chai just hit the spot!
This weekend is the Fetish Flea . . . I'm debating buying my first "real" corset (since the Frederick's of Hollywood doesn't really count). Its SO much money to spend on something I'll rarely wear but I don't think that B will let me get away with not buying one. Other possible weekend events include seeing "Save the Last Dance", the new Vampire movie about Nosferatu (can't remember the title, again), the Fetish Rave in Springfield and the Scissorkiss show in NH.
Whee - busy busy!
And the thought to leave you with for the day from my company's intranet:
