This weekend
Jul. 5th, 2003 09:49 amI loved having yesterday off. Even though we did mostly work in the kitchen, it was nice to sleep late (late being 8:30 AM) :)
The fireworks in Waltham were amazing! I'm not sure where they got the budget but damn, were they nice. I was remembering the years that we didn't have fireworks because the city was too poor. Then about 5-6 years or so they did lots of fundraising and one wealthy good ole Waltham boy (the developer that built Cronin's Landing) donated a huge chunk of money to make them possible. I dragged B with me (he had never seen fireworks in person before) and we watched them from the Police Station lawn. It feels so nice to be a part of the community again, even if I'm just faking it for an evening.
We'll be priming and hopefully painting our kitchen this weekend (the paint is really a tinted plaster, if we can do it this weekend all depends on whether my dad thinks the bumpiness of the stuff will interfere with him putting up the cabinets next week. He's putting up the cabinets next week *boggle*. Hopefully within 2-3 weeks we'll have a kitchen again.
Have a lovely weekend all! I'm not sure what we'll do in addition to kitchen stuff but soon, SOON, we can have a summer. We didn't have one last year due to the house - hopefully we'll at least be able to get a few weeks out of it *this* year.
