No I'm not being a pirate, I'm just annoyed at my computer. OK, pirates good, think happy thoughts :)
I started running a query at 11:00. I came back to my desk at 1:00 and it was still running. I tweaked it a bit to hopefully speed things up. The sucky thing is, its over a VPN to Partners which means I can't access any of our other network drives . . . so I can't do other work while this is running. Dammit!
I've decided to do tweaked versions of costumes for Dragoncon given we only have a little over a month to pull everything together. My Misato outfit is pretty much done, I just need to get a wig cap and make sure the wig works.
For the Amidala outfit I'm going to make the cape, I ordered snoods for my hair today, I bought one of those Freddie's bodices that's a similar style to hers which I'm going to dye, and I'm going to go find an old wedding dress at The Garment District to also dye. If time permits I'll tweak things to make them more accurate . . . but it will be more of an assembly of a costume rather than sewing one.
Frederick's of Hollywood's posters are more in the burlesque/cheesecake direction now - RAWK! If you're looking for pink ruffly panties stop by there (they are way cheaper than those designer ones I saw in NOLA that J-Lo wore on the cover of some magazine that cost over $100).
Is there some kind of drum circle/bellydance thing at Dragoncon (or am I confusing this with Arisia)? If so, I want to pull some kind of appropriate outfit together for this. And B and I will need to work on his Ikari and Anakin outfits. I feel bad, originally we were going to also do Gundham Wing costumes but I really wasn't excited about the outfit or character for mine . . . I'll bring some other sexy outfit instead.
