Moving update
May. 19th, 2004 01:42 pmIt looks like we found our mover - they are coming tomorrow morning to give an in-home estimate. They've been $500 cheaper (based on the over the phone inventory estimate) than a couple of others given that they are local and wouldn't need to drive out to Framingham from Sutton or Somerville.
The catch - they can load up on the 15th but aren't free to move in on the 16th . . . they could on the 17th. So we'd load up the house on Tuesday, store Tuesday night and Wednesday night, and have it moved in on Thursday. This works out better for us actually - we could have a house free of furniture on Wednesday after the closing to paint. In that case we'd be staying with pets at a friends' place in Arlington the night before close, leaving pets there during close, getting pets, and then going to town with painting while the pets freak out in an empty house with us painting nearby. We'd sleep in Waltham on a mattress on the floor on the 16th. Its times like these, I love having a truck to take the mattress (and parents living nearby that could hold our painting supplies for us to grab after closing).
SO IF ANYONE WANTS TO HELP, we'll need painting help on the afternoon and eve of Wednesday June 16. We'll be doing the living room and dining room (already primed) and the bedroom (needs primer and paint). If time allows, we'd slap some paint on the small bit of wallspace in the upstairs bathroom (which would also need to be primed). Ideally we'll get this all done before our stuff arrives on the 17th. Heh. If we had even 2 people help out, it would be doable - we're using latex paint which dries quickly.
